Watch for more details! Learn about communicating with Deaf Dogs on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 6pm to 7:30pm. Owners and trainers of deaf dogs will be on hand to help you understand the ins and outs of owning and training a deaf dog. Deaf dogs have been in movies, visited nursing homes and hospitals, and can make great companions. Call Sara at 815-319-4116 to reserve your spot. This educational series is being held at Winnebago County Animal Services, 4517 N. Main Street, Rockford, IL. Have you heartworm tested your dog this year? You might want to consider a visit to your local veterinarian. Mosquitoes are carriers of this deadly disease and transmit the larvae when the it bites your dog. Flea Prevention: It's important to protect your cats and dogs from fleas and ticks. Winnebago County Animal Services uses Frontline when animals are impounded at the shelter.
