Protect Your Pets on 4th of July

Winnebago County Animal Services encourages pet owners to keep their pets indoors over the July 4th weekend. Fireworks frighten animals and cause them to run in fear with danger of being hit by a car or lost.

Be sure to keep an ID on your pet at all times and consider implanting a microchip. Always keep your address and phone number up-to-date with Winnebago County Animal Services, so you can be contacted in the event your pet is found.

Remind your friends the first place to look for their lost pet is Winnebago County Animal Services at 4517 N. Main Street.
